About

People who actually live here.

Boreal Paths is a small, independent project run by people based in Finland who work in and around Rovaniemi tourism. The idea is simple: turn real local knowledge into a trip you can actually book, instead of a generic list a travel app scraped from a continent away.

I split my life between Finnish hospitality and building software. I've worked in Rovaniemi tourism, I know the operators and the seasons, and I got tired of watching visitors arrive with plans that don't survive contact with a real Arctic winter — too packed, scheduled into the dark, or built around tours that aren't worth it. So I built the planner I wished people had, and I write the guides I wish I'd read.

What we actually do

The free planner builds a realistic day-by-day Rovaniemi winter itinerary from genuine activities, real opening times, and the logistics that matter in the cold. The Field Notes are honest, first-hand guides to visiting Rovaniemi. And for anyone who wants something private or custom, we design trips by hand.

Honesty policy

We'd rather tell you a tour isn't worth it than sell you on it. Some links on the site are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you book through them, at no extra cost to you. That never changes what we recommend.
